Update your CVs, network with people you respect and build your recruiter relationships sooner than later. Nimmy has been a cackling jackal on his phone calls, so you can bet we're nearing the end.

Leadership saying its a time of opportunity. That the new company will love its resources and keep the best of the best. Since when has McKesson/Change ever once been able to acknowledge the best of the best? What you magically change in the future?
Leadership wants to convince all the individual contributors to stay because they'll get a golden parachute. All of us will have to share a single parachute. I don't trust anyone.
Attrition? What attrition? Nevermind all those folks running as fast as they can for the exits.

"Business as usual" seems to be the rallying cry of management these days. There's no greater shibboleth.

Fiscal year doesn't start in January, so this isn't the 3rd qtr.
Its about 2/3 way through the 3rd qtr..they better get busy firing if they are going to make it. How long did it take in March? Like 4 weeks to finish?
Hammergren does want out of McKesson. He has a golden parachute which will set him up for life regardless. But...he also loves power, as do most middle-aged rich white men.
He will move to another entity or possibly the UK. His leadership has tarnished McKesson's future, no way will he stay to take blame for any of the mess he created.
And the work from home person who posted, you are the reason for the downfall as well. You are the reason many jobs are going to India. I do not believe ANYONE should be permitted to work remotely in this company.
Person below me is absolutely correct. Read the terms more closely. Everyone keeps saying McKesson is investing because they care...but they are investing to get it to IPO and drop it. Hammergren wants rid of the Tech group but wants to s--- them dry first. They don't care if their former employees get sh-- benefits or a job at all. Anyone thinking McKesson cares about anything above their stock price and profit margins...is delusional.

No way is this happening. To make such a statement shows a profound lack of understanding about the new company and its relation to McKesson. The structure of the spin off deal leaves the new company with a huge debt and with McKesson exiting the picture ASAP following the IPO. McKesson has no "skin in the game" as far as the new company is concerned, and this is certainly by design. The spin off could have been structured in more advantageous terms for the new company but the fact that it just provides a bolus of cash for McKesson makes it obvious that the big company doesn't give a sh-- about the success of the spin off. No way will Hammergren know the name of the new company in twenty four months, let alone be a part of it.
So happy I'm interviewing. Joined McKesson five years ago with hopes of promotions and educational experience. Both happened- I learned what not to do and I got a nice boost in salary and reaponsibility. So I can thank McKesson for that. But not for this constant stress and cheerleading about Change "change."
I miss being motivated to work 50-60 hours a week. Now I can barely stomach 40.

So much for Healthcare 2020. I've never seen such pathetic leadership as that demonstrated by Hammergren. The Alpharetta office looks like something from the Walking Dead.
It's not an easy feat changing employment during pregnancy, as is the predicament I'm in. I am concerned about McKesson's future vision. Where are our leaders trying to take this company? It has gotten considerably worse in the past 10 years. I've been checking this site since the last RIF when several of my co-workers were cut. I don't know how other employees can be comfortable in their jobs everyday. I have my resume & unemployment info ready. My desk is cleaned off. Sad way to work, I know... I've been scoping out other employers and trying to be more educated with the next position I accept. I really doubt it can be as bad as McKesson. Such a shame, with all the talent that goes unnoticed and resources at their fingertips. My hunch is Hammergren will move to the new entity "Change Healthcare" and leave Pharma. HQ will leave One Post and MedSurg will undergo major reorg. Pharma will layoff several with the sale of EIS. More functions outsourced to Genpact including HR functions and admin. Benefit cost will soar and many perks will be cut. But the MIP will stay in full force and sales will continue to splurge millions on parties and trade shows. Customers will leave McK droves as IT, software and McK systems continue their downward spiral. "Do more with less" training videos will be played for the surviving staff. Good luck everyone.
Mass layoffs? That's always a possibility. But it's also a low probability. FTEs always have choices. Choice 1 is to stay and see what happens. Choice 2 is to seek employment with a company that values them more (which really should not be that difficult). That is the case no matter where you work.
Being close to retirement means nothing in today's corporate environments, especially those in un-unionized right-to-work states. Off shore workers are more than happy to do the work because management no longer cares about their products. Profits will increase once the highly paid employees are gone. Welcome to the 21st century.
Unless they want a massive amount of lawsuits from employees close to retirement that severance package won't happen. They know that will be illegal.

Nobody knows what will happen yet because EIS has not been sold. We still need all the warm bodies to get MU3 done. FUD
