I have never worked anywhere with lazier managers. This is a Texas store so hopefully things are not the same all over but,,, I can go to lunch and see two to three posted up close to the front door and when I come back they are still there. Not greeting customers mind you but doing their best to stay out of the office during "power hour" but doing NOTHING to promote customer service. I know there is a certain amount of admin that they are required to do but I can go eight hours on a weekend and never see them in the department when we are swamped and losing business and there is a TON of support they COULD offer. I have had them tap out of a Theatro conversation that directly pertained to them. If I were in that position I would be hustling alongside the folks in my department and making an impact. I guess that shows that the people doing the hiring are not going to hire a hustler because they might find themselves out worked and out of a job.

Theatro can show where everyone is. Who has time to look at it though...
I hope they require "managers" to know the areas they claim to manage. Hunting managers that don't and camping managers that don't know what a pellet grill burns. I guess that is what you get when SENIOR managers don't know the product either and just hire a warm body that will never challenge them for their job. Hell, if I didn't know what the warranty was on a fishing reel it would be "easier" to not find out then it would be to tell a customer I didn't know. Just hide, and miss selling that generator or safe that would have pushed the department over the top for the day. Cabela's, Where striving for excellence is for s---ers!!
I've seen the same thing in many stores.........and that's why BPS will be taking over Cabela's.
