Wow--yes that is a perfect description of a Dictator boss. I almost think we must have the same boss?

Yes the funny thing about these Dictator type bosses, is they do the following

The Boss comes in on time while you came in early to try and catch up on work

The Boss always gets their breaks in while you give up yours because of work

The Boss leaves the office to have lunch while you eat at your desk because of the workload

The Boss leaves on time while you stay late at night because of the new double or triple workload

Bosses have changed for sure--most of mine are the Dictator types. Never satisfied and terrible to work with.

Starting earlier, working harder and staying later for no pay increase or chance of promotion.

No way I can do this by for another 15 years---cant do it for another week.

Help

The people remaining at SSB are under great stress being forced to do double and sometimes

triple workloads.

And yes its even harder when the people running your department changed constantly.

You get the Dictator boss who wants to control everything, you get the Clueless Boss who got the

job because he or she was a pet aka s--- up to a higher up boss.

Yes you never know how the mgmt style constantly changes.

My experience of working at State Street is that the way that you are treated gets worse every year. My latest experience is that I arrive at work somewhere between 7 and 7:30 every morning. I get to work early to have my breakfast before I start my work. Recently, it doesn't matter how early I get to work I always have someone making demands of my time. It is definitely time to start looking for a new position. With all of the layoffs that have happened in the past few years I have worked for many different managers and am getting tired of it. I take a few minutes of my day to have breakfast and lunch and work at least 8 to 9 hours a day. It will only get worse especially if they have more layoffs that I expect will happen soon.
