Tread Lightly When Considering Working for Intel - Fails All Three

Humans make relationships harder than they need to be. At our very core, we crave only three things (after food, shelter, and good wi-fi service):

To feel safe. "I can take risks and not be demoralized or penalized."

To feel like we belong. "These are my people. This is my tribe."

To feel like we matter. "Is the work that I am doing meaningful to my organization? Am I making a dent in the universe?"

Intel FAILS MISERABLY on ALL three of these. Consider another company!!

I'm in for the food, shelter, and good wi-fi.

It's not about how hard you work at Intel, it's about who you know and if your genetics are "favored" or not.

Gordon Moore was CEO when I joined Intel. I truly do remember feeling "this is my tribe" then. I was sad to move on this year, but only because my "tribe" was gone.

Here's another Intel failure, "challenge the status quo". They forgot to say that if you do, you will be targeted for extinction.

I was around for all of PSO's days but don't remember that. "I believe, I belong, I matter"?? Maybe it was because I didn't care for the BS line. lol

Anybody here remember the old PSO days when the mantra from employee communications was "I believe, I belong, I matter"? And when we came back from a bad year, PSO gave everyone a $1K bonus and extra year of stock? And if you had a bad year, the company worked with you on development, improvement and at worst a redeployment to a better fit? BK threw that kind of thinking to the curb when he showed up. I've been out for awhile so can only imagine what they are doing inside now to rally the troops.
