Thread regarding Staples Inc. layoffs

When VS going to be let go? He is not a leader or motivator, just a bully. Why have so many VS posts been deleted? Every comment was true.

This doesnot surprise me about Vinnie . I worked for him years ago and he was a jack a-- back then . He was always a brown noser with upper management. You have to remember his wife Susan has the ring thru his nose. He has forgotten what Staples culture is really about. He has forgotten about the glory days of this company. He does not care he is worth money based on his salary and all of the old stock options he received. I am sure they helped him sell his house in Westchester county NY and move to Mass. Come on Servello if you had a manager that managed this way you would be pissed!! If my memory serves me right you thought you were GOD when you were the HR manager. Stop the crap and respect those that work for you and make you look good.

@ @IPZSBTB-4jxy - it is because they want US retail to fail.

Think of Staples US Retail as a passenger plane in trouble.

Basically it is in a controlled crash right now and what they are trying to do is get people to volunteer to jump out to lighten the load. If they jump out they are not eligible for any kind of refund or compensation (severance or UI).

When people don't volunteer fast enough, people like VS and OP and other push them out. (but some may get UI )

The plan is to reduce the # of passengers (tenured store staff) so as to reduce the overall amount to be paid out when the plan finally crashes.

There's a silence that comes from the top about issues such as the Servello situation. That silence is the absolute sign of guilt. Their silence tells you that they know what is happening and they are proud of it. The saddest part of it is that all of us voicing our opinions on here are not doing so because we want to hurt or destroy. We are all hard working, dedicated, and heart broken; and all we want is to be successful in a successful company. The hurt and destruction comes from the top management not from us. Why can't the right choices be made? Why can't you start with at least ONE decision that puts us all in track again? Why Staples, can't you reverse the most destructive decisions that have doomed this company? Why can't you part ways with Servello?

This company has nothing to offer a hard working person. No retirement, no longevity, no loyalty, they are unethical and hire people as execs to sabotage you. No wonder why no one wants to work here. Corporate office killed this company.how embarrassing.

Stores were losing money / not comping with tenured employees. US retail and international were tanking. So of course the answer is to raise exec compensation. To do that, they needed to free up some payroll and the tenured store managers were the perfect fall guys (even if their stores did well).

This company is now corrupt and unethical, everyone is expendable. Hopefully VS's usefulness is coming to an end.

An unethical company. That's who does sh-- like that. If people are doing there jobs correctly and just because they have tenure with the company doesn't mean you should drive them out. Dosent corporate get it? Tenure employees are like gold. They know everything. They should use this to help the co. But no you have bullies like you know who do the dirty work of a low life scum ball that they are. Funny how karma has,a way of sneaking up when you least expect. Unethical practice by staples.

"What kind of company puts people in a position to drive other people out?"

An all around failing and crappy company like Staples. Keeping those higher paid GMs in place would of meant less cash in place for execs to steal.

VS is easily the worst executive I have come across in all my years of retail.

What kind of company puts people in a position to drive other people out? I tell you who does, only a week company with no back bone. No wonder why it's falling apart. Bunch of puss##. Week men in charge. Throwing around their title. It's not a secret anymore. It's all for show. Funny thing is this will not work in his favor. His exit / early retirement /severance what ever you want to call it, is sooner than you think. When they are done using him, he is history just like staples. I'm not scared because I am better than any of them. I have integrity I'm honest and this is just a stepping stone for me. I'm going places they are headed out the door. I have no respect for people like that.

Sooner or later they will have to get rid of VS. There won't be enough stores to need all the RVPs and he was demoted into the RVP position, so there is little to no chance of upward mobility for him.

They wanted him in that position to drive people out, but his eventual termination is inevitable.

He is in that position because they want a bully.

There are probably only a few mods on this site that cover all the companies. Either someone just saw them and decided they were against the terms of use or someone at Staples complained.
