More layoff rumors

Hearing that there is going to be a management / supervisor layoff this coming Friday 8/12. Guess it's to be expected that if you let go so many employees then you eventually have to start reducing down the management teams. I feel sorry for those left because they will be worried about when their time is up and will also be forced to work harder to try and pick up the slack.

Yup definitely mot a rumor, in January of 2016 the CT group/POD of my former employment had about 120 employees with 6 or 7 Team Leads (AKA Managers, as of today it has 2 filling the same roles with only a few less heads to manage. No way the managers/team leaders can be effective with excess of 60 people reporting to one person...........bad decision yet again for CSC CEO Lowrie. Apparently these 60+ people are expected to support a huge customer of over 250,000 users world-wide without supervision ..... not a model for success - all about getting the numbers stacked correctly for the HPE "merger" !!!!

Hearing next round of cuts will be in CSS..trend will continue as more efficiencies are introduced..expect hits in Isolve as well

Efficiencies aren't by cutting people, its by making processes more streamlined.

The way it is now Less people , more work, less getting done! Maybe they should right source the CEO position to a lower cost country and save millions of dollars

I got laid off from CSC yesterday. Less than 3 months ago, they recruited me from a solid position at a competitor by offering a lot more money. Today is my last day, with 2 weeks severance pay.

My Mgr got RIF'd also. The last one was RIF'd a month or so ago. Mgrs at CSC are not even a little technical though, so this does not impact actual IT functions being performed. For more than a decade, I have never had the same Mgr for longer than 6 months. I figured that this was the business model for CSC in order to deny income increases because it is always "plausible" that your new Mgr has no idea how well you have performed the prior year. The irony is that just after the Mgrs help take down some of their peers or help setup something that makes working at CSC s--- a bit more, they get RIF'd. Very Shakespeare...

Where are these layoffs happening? Are they cutting into the customer service area?

I wonder if CSC would take requests for which managers/supervisors to let go? I could give them a huge list!

There are so many poor manager's and supervisor's at CSC to choose from, how will they decide which one's to let go?
