Adjunct faculty here, teaching one class a week. Are student surveys happening this quarter? What happened with student appreciation week? Management says nothing, but student are wondering what is going on.
Usually my email is swamped with reminders from admin about student surveys by this time in quarter -- not a peep about surveys this quarter. Usually my campus has Student Appreciation Week around now, with food as reward for students who submit survey --- but no student appreciation week so far.
At my campus, students who are graduating this quarter tell me they are being pitched certificate courses -- apparently with Itt-tech's CFPB or newly re-branded Benchmark Learning. They are told they get steep discount if they sign up now, that employers look for certs, etc, etc. Students are confused and suspicious.
Career Services director is apparently swamped arranging required "internships" for students, according to one of my student "sources." What's up with this?
Is ESI desperate for cash to make mid-September Dept of Ed payment? Is ESI trying to nickel and dime it?
I have declined to teach any classes next quarter -- the way ITT-Tech management is handling this current accreditation crisis, with complete secrecy, leaves me completely without confidence in company or leadership.
