Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Aicha leaked memo #2

There is a lot of concern in iCDG that 7480 will not be bought by Intel's only customer due to outdated feature set and loss of cost competitiveness with Qualcomm. This will be Intel's 4th generation modem on TSMC 28nm process with a silicon are 3x the magnitude of the competition.

Therefore Aicha has been asked by MCM to draw up an action plan in the event Intel mobile is no longer viable. The current plan of record is to accelerate the closures planned for next year.

More evidence of Aicha's failures. In any other company, this joke of a leader would have been fired a long time ago.

What a joke Intel modem is in 28nm TSMC. Intel has 22nm and 14nm in production where is really like TSMC 10nm, but can't produce a Modem in their own silicon, makes you wonder what is wrong, the process, the design, or the whole dang integration is broken that they can't do anything but x86.

Now the competition has available 20nm, 16nm, and soon 10nm, and Intel selling TSMC 28nm can't imagine they are making money compared to the vendors on the smaller nodes with power, area, and performance advantages. Plus Intel has to swallow the intel overhead... It is going to be a loss leader just like Tablets were, LOL

He meant "there will be 3x more layoffs" this time around.

@ari - "...with a silicon are 3x the magnitude of the competition."

I think he wanted to say with a silicon area 3x ...

Where's the memo or is this all just speculation? Leaked internally?

"...with a silicon are 3x the magnitude of the competition."

Sorry, that sentence makes no sense whatsoever.
