US heavily relies on foreigners for advanced skills, it has nothing to do with lowering the wages.
The problem is known since decades.
Over 50% of US Ph.D. are foreign born and you wonder why you got so many foreigners at Intel?
Problem is not only advanced education, even general education level is pretty low compared to Asia and Europe.
I met only few US students during my Engineering study (in Europe), their cultural level was way lower than the German, French, Italians, Indian peers. Don't even talk about knowledge of foreign languages, history, geography, economics, etc.
Immigrants are a symptom, not the problem.
The real problem is the low quality (in average) of your schools.
