There is so little work for us to do in our shipping area I can't believe they haven't closed this dept down and moved us to Crucial. What a waste of money in this place.Complete daily bore.
Good planning there, I work with people that take money out of their 401k to go to Disneyland. They will be the first to b--ch about how unfair the company is when they get laid off and they can't pay their rent.
Micron lays people off every year. Nothing will change.
It don't matter where you go. Every business/industry has layoffs. It's a simple equation. Workforce multiplied by the business forcast for the upcoming years. If they are employing more people than their business forecast demands then they have to cut people. This industry has been notorious for its ups and downs. It pays well enough where people should have enough money put aside to wether the down turns. In 3 years I was abLE to bank a full years salary by living within my means knowing that sooner or later things will get tight. I'm currently still employed, but if that day ever comes for me, I will be able to pay myself my full bi-weekly salary for a minimum of a year while ai wait out the storm. If you weren't prepaired for this then it's your own fault.
