I moved to Houston from Ohio in 1978. I went to work at Cameron Iron Works. I was laid off January 1983. I'm still not over it. Actually I didn't get laid off , it was a divorce. I loved working there. Silber Rd. I eventually moved away but my heart is still in Houston and Cameron Iron.

Hang in there, things always change. Sometimes for the better.
I found a job within a month of being laid off from Cameron. You have to hustle and work harder than you have had to in the past, but it is possible. Don't think that Cameron is the end of the road, because it's not. There are much better places to work. Without all the drama, and the favoritism, those jobs do exist, another place that respects it's employees,
You should be glad you still have a JOB. COBRA is not cheap and finding another job is next to impossible. You better enjoy your job (and its pay checks) while you can!!!
Equity Clay road everywhere.. everyone is walking around like the ax is about to fall. Most people they laid off months ago are still unemployed, I'm so sad and don't feel motivated to accomplish anything. They got rid of all the fun people, everyone left is boring and depressing. It surprises me how they keep people that are not good managers but let the people that do the actual work go. So weird. We have lost some good workers, There was a guy in the Drilling building that was so nice and always made me feel good and always was willing to help with what ever I needed, he was one of the first ones they got rid of. Now everyone that left just sits in their cubicles and wont help r even say hello. it s very depressing here.
