I have seen a lot of comments on here about how everything is management's fault and that the worker bees are innocent victims of their stupidity. This is bunk. For profit schools are failing right and left. Sure, management could make better choices, and they generally are self-important people with. L long term thinking. But I think this goes get deeper than that. Our entire industry has been exposed as a fraud, and the gig is up. The victims are the students who are stuck with massive loans and no job to be able to pay it back. THe victims are the taxpayers who fund this entire industry with little o show for it. DeVry employees are not the victims. If anytjjng, we are complicit in the whole debacle. Without us, this place couldn't exist.

Management completely STINKS to high heaven--what a bunch of ..
Most of them quit when the tough gets going, most of them lack discipline and time management. But it's Devrys fault for that lol.
....Yes IT IS DEVRY'S fault for incessantly calling "leads" 20 times they blew their chance.

If our students can't even fill out simple forms correctly as you seem to be saying, then maybe we need to raise our standards of who we let in. Doesn't make us look good to award degrees to people who can't even fill out simple forms. Just makes us look like a desperate diploma mill who accepts anyone with a pulse and a checkbook. Who would take a school seriously if their alumni can barely spell their name? Would you?
Would you like to go through that process? Do you even know or understand the students? They can hardly fill out their fafsa's.
If a school closes their degree stays valid. Students would need to order extra transcripts and diplomas before it closes it's doors. The same for students who go to a school where the name is being changed. Current students would need to transfer their credits if they can to other universities. Yes it's a pain but it won't do irreparable damage to them. Hell most of them might get their loans forgiven. So how horrible would it be for students if it closed? Short answer, not as bad as some would think. You think if the state schools in IL closed due to the fiscal issues all the alumni of those schools lose their degrees? No. That is not how it works. So keep your scare tactics to yourself and try educating yourself. It's called Google.
Umm Camden, the numbers came from the students you moron. And post graduate numbers have really nothing to do with the cost or the education or students completing their programs. Will someone please give Camden a reality pill??? Or at least make him douche so his brain clears up.
@IEgR9mR-3rbw, continue to blame Devry students. Label them as spendthrifts and undisciplined quitters.
Take little responsibility for the mess, even the fraudulent gainful employment numbers.
See where that gets you.
Others are comparing Devry's situation to a "dumpster fire."

First off, most of the programs, in fact all of them are covered by aid. Assuming the student hasn't been to 5 other schools before and not nearing their aggregate loan limits. Most of the students we get are ones that have used a majority of their funding at other schools or have credits that don't transfer in. So let's get the facts right first hand. Secondly, the school is accredited, if you have a problem with the quality of the education, take it up with the accrediting agency. Thirdly, isn't it up to the student to graduate and do the work? There is a reason most online students are older and may have tried to get an education in the past but failed. And they continue to do so, so we just give up on them? Is that your solution? No that's not the right course of action. According to Camden and his cronies we should just give up on those people and shut our doors. How about a real solution like offering more tutoring or mentoring, how about making sure the student has all the tools to complete their degree. Which devry has done a good job at. The issue is the students at times. Most of them quit when the tough gets going, most of them lack discipline and time management. But it's Devrys fault for that lol.
@IEgR9mR-1upg so your solution is to keep letting this place milk students out of money for overpriced education that they will never be able to pay back? And more than likely wont even be able to finish their degree. Wow I bet you are such a wonderful role model for your kids.
Speaking for yourself. You might have been complacent or complicit but some of us tried to provide an education worthwhile for the students and tried to reverse the environment under the difficult situations and are now having our reputation tarnished. Are we not the victims?
The last poster has a problem with reading comprehension.
Let's close down the place so 15,000 people can be out of work. We don't do anything positive according to these last posts and we are the only company in America taking the tax payers money and abusing it! Close devry! Camden and his cronies are right! But here's the thing milky lickers, those students past and present will be far more affected and worse off if devry shuts its doors. So pull your heads out of camdens behind and get a clue.
Some of the responses on this thread are despicable and speak to the entitled attitude that got us in this mess. The percent of students that graduate from our schools is incredibly low, and the number that are not able to pay their loans back is incredibly high. This is a fact. Maybe there are worse examples taxpayer waste, but I can't imagine there are many. It would be one thing to argue that our positive contributions outway our negative ones. But to say that everyone should turn a blind eye to us and focus on worse wasters on taxpayer money is like saying the police shouldn't be arresting people for robbery when there are far worse crimes being committed,
Because this is a board about Devry you idiot. You want to talk about other companies go to a board about them.
There is far worse culprits getting the taxpayers dollar and a lot more of it. Yet I don't see you trolls going after them.
Devry used to be a different school that offered a different education. Now it offers less but charges more. And doesn't offer programs you can't find elsewhere. It lost its focus and it's lost uniqueness. Essentially it's turned into a diploma mill. A very overpriced diploma mill. Bad practices hidden by a once good name. Well, not so hidden anymore. Truth always comes out.
I can't speak for others but when I started here I was still under the impression devry was different, more to its roots. Now I wouldn't have even bothered to apply knowing the truth.
So you're saying that because the government wastes taxpayer money elsewhere, we should be able to able to waste it too? I think the last poster is the one that needs to get a clue.
What about the tax payer money that goes for billions of dollars to bail out fraud companies that rip people off and still give out millions in bonuses on the tax payers dime? What about the billions of tax payer money that pays for wars and people die and the billions of dollars spent on defense and weapons that don't even get developed or used. And you complain about devry taking the tax payer money? Wake up n get a clue dummy.
