In berwick they kept the people that never got a raise. Go figure and niw they are shocked we are asking to get laid off.... Well you kept the idiot supervisor that gave raises to people that dont know what they are even building and can manage an ojt program so we sure dont have faith in him

More layoffs coming in couple of weeks. Overheard conversation about salary and union cuts. I thought more of managers but now realize none can be trusted. They fear losing their jobs so look you in the eye and lie.....lie......lie. Please be prepared. File for unemployment and if denied and you are over 55 call attorney. Don't roll over and give up. I know a guy at state attys office, my sister dated him a few times and he thinks I should file age discrimination suit.

Lay offs still coming. Watch out for H. King, she will put you on the chopping block. She should be the one on the chopping block. She is in deep with someone. Don't trust her.

"lying about credentials and project outcomes" - that makes them Schlum high-pot material.

I suspected something bad was about to happen. On Friday when it happened - my phone was disconnected while doing a presentation to another groups VP in the field, then I used mine to call supervisor and was asked to do a Friday debrief meeting. As I was in there my boss was buying time, and HR walked in with a package and told me good bye. They treated me well on exit, wish it wouldn't have happened that way but I had an expensive package for my position which put me at a Director level.

I regretted leaving the position, but understood the economics of it. My only regret was that the team was highly dysfunctional and people were being rewarded for lying about credentials and project outcomes.

No news??? Well, SLB made a $2.16 billion loss and sent home 8000 people in the 2nd qtr. this year as per their released financial results from the week before and the WTI price dropped back down to $41/barrel yesterday.

No news is not good news. Good news is not good news. I was told I was totally safe even though people in my group were whittled down to 2 on the March bloodbath layoff day in 2015. 30% of our staff at my office was cut. Everything went well all year. Then on a random morning my boss called me and asked me to come to a conference room. I immediately knew. I've always gotten excellents in my annual reviews and had lots of work to do but apparently my number was up for no reason. Nobody is safe. Everyone is seen as whether or not they can be absorbed into another position or not, and if they are in any way a duplication of efforts that can be done by someone making less money. If so, they're gone. You're only safe if you're Indian or a kiss a-- GRDP.

At the end of the day, we are all just a folder on a desk. On the big layoff day last March, I saw the process behind the scene first hand. We are all just stacks of folders that HR puts in piles of who to keep and who to fire based on what "The Bobs" say. It doesn't matter if you're told you're safe or nobody has said anything to you. Everyone is on the chopping block.
