Thread regarding Zenith Education Group layoffs

I just cannot do it anymore

I gave my 2 week notice today and my directors response was...good for you, I am going to be right behind you as soon as I find something! I Can no longer take a paycheck from this company. They are unintentionally 500 times worse than CCi ever was! They are so over their heads and I can no longer swallow the educational experience that we are providing students. They do not have the tools to be successful, nobody cares and for the first time in many years, I can honestly say that we are changing lives for the worst. These students are not going to get jobs and the ones that do will be paid a poverty wage. We are cashing our paychecks on the backs of people who we are putting in terrible life situations. Instructors are frustrated, staff is being asked to multitask because there is no money and I for one am embarrassed by what we have become. As of today I am unemployed for the first time in many years and I have to tell you... the knot in my stomach that you are living with is gone.

To comment on the illiterate people, have you ever seen what you hire and watch them write on a board in front of a classroom? Have you ever been exposed to the dramatic life some of the employees bring to work with them? Maybe your just blind to the reality of the fact its getting hard to hire anyone due to a reputation of lowering the education standards to meet the lower education standards of high schools. Hire a student to teach students. Over the last 8 years I watched the system become easy for a student. There is no standard anymore. Inexperienced management and weak training. You tube training at its best.

Jeffrey- Notwithstanding the time and energy you put forward, how much did that Bachelor's Degree cost? And I'm looking for the full cost, not the so-called "net cost" which doesn't point out the cost of not being able to go to another school.

"So sorry, but you used all your financial aid at Everest..."

I attended this school or schools from 2010 to 2015. I was an ambassador brainwashed to help students to stay in school and help them pass courses they had no business taking in the first place. Just like myself, they started me in Computer Information and Science courses and I did not even know what a browser was let alone how to copy and paste. I was asked to be an ambassador about half way through my associates degree, I was even one of the officers in the ambassador program. But some of the students that I was assigned to help had no business taking the courses they were taking . I seen students fail courses as much as three times before they passed or moved on. If they did not pass eventually they just moved them on. All along knowing that in the end these students would not have enough funds to finish because they had taken several course many times over. They did not bother telling these students that the fact that they had to take these courses several times would effect their funds. Instead come time they would hook them up with private loans, knowing they may never pass.

They did not care if you learned or not, there were a couple of students that did so bad the ambassador program had us stop helping them because they required so much help. I seen students that could read a chapter over and over again and not understand one thing. I graduated my Bachelor program with a 3.49 GPA and I am still unemployed. Mind ya I was an ambassador. But I do not have no where near the education I should have I do not even have a certificate let alone pass the test. After being on the job market and going on many, many interviews I have found out I do not have near the education needed to even acquire a job in my degree field. And what about all those students I had helped that did even worse than myself.

What a joke.....

It's amazing how many illiterate people respond on this website. Are there any schools that teach grammar anymore? When you write and speak like a moron, you have no credibility and your complaints have no validity. Seriously, are the trolls let out of their cages that often?

Students are being mislead on a daily basis, employees are being lied mislead. The organization is corrupt period. I amazes me how the dept of ed. can let the charade continue.

1lhi - you don't write with the discipline of someone having a post high school education; more like a teenager texting their GF.

You will feel better I promise. It takes a little time but after some sleep and time alone you begin to see the real world again. Good choice. You cannot expect much when students are becoming teachers and most teachers have no current experience past wet ink on a resume. Its even more fun when a no experienced manager talks down to you and you only smile knowing all well they have no idea what they are saying past the cube walls they live in. How about the evening text messages asking for your opinion on ideas and then using all those ideas as their own to end up failing anyway.

Im even embarrassed to say i graduated from college at all. Im $50k in debt do to this and nowhere near having the job and pay i was promised. i have a family I need to support and its hard now because my wages are nowhere near where I was promised they would be. I thought I was changing my life for the better but I was wrong. I actually tell myself I changed for the wrong reasons debt and jobless.

$80,000 in the hole from CCI and their lies. Had to fight with Zenith to get transcripts, accounts are current. Filed my defense to payment....hoping for a break. Navient is all over me for a loan CCI duped me to get. Going to school made my life worse, should have just stayed on the couch when I saw the Everest ad on tv.

I understand. I worked for several years for CCI...I walked through the hard times and then came Zenith. Zenith DOES NOT know what they are doing. Everything Zenith has put into place has been a failure. I too am happy that I can now sleep without the haunting horror of putting students in debt for nothing but a $10.00 an hour job.

Outstanding!! I myself got out over a year ago, but have been watching from the sidelines because I truly cared about the folks that were left behind. Hoping that things would get better, but expecting the worst. I left messages here to encourage folks to look for work outside of Zenith and quit when they got another job.

With a work ethic like yours, new and better employment is right around the corner. Good luck!!
