Speaking as a WFH for the past few years, I get far more done and can think much clearer when I don't have to listen about people and their meeting, kids, spouses, problems, and opinions. WFH is something certain people can do and some others don't have a clue. It's about the quantity and quality of work. Collaboration is a joke and nothing more than the stupid and lazy taking credit for those who actually get things done.

You need collaboration and face to face time you socially inept fools.
Collaboration is key to accomplishing large goals.
Caveman thinking of Intel on display right here. Most companies have evolved to understand the technology has set people free to work from anywhere.
Depends on the job - forcing a bunch of IP attorneys to come into an office and sit in an open bullpen vs. working from a home office is counterproductive (but now required).
Seems there are some people who WFH but their Outlook site says they are at some big site even though they never actually go in. Others have VS or something. Seems like the first group slipped through the cracks of the SQL query (for now) one wonders how long such arrangements will last.
WFH is not necessarily not productive. The absolutely most gifted and productive member of our team was a virtual worker. She declined relo and so was let go while the marginal, has-had-IR-in-the-past person is still standing. She's nominally at a core site but nobody's ever seen her in the office. So it can go both ways.
To me, those that always "WFH" should have been dealt with long ago. Consider yourself lucky if you're still allowed to WFH.
