I heard the layoff's are starting Tuesday through Friday after the July 4th holiday. Good luck to us all. There is life after FMC-Technip.

Manufacturing is coming back to the USA says a news item today. FMC execs in their infinite wisdom have chosen to close the Houston machine shop and weld shop. How quaintly 1990s of them.

We've entered the looting phase. The MBA's you speak of never were trained to turn a profit, they are simply trained to loot companies, insurance plans, retirements, stocks and property thinking they are the good guys while in reality they are transforming the US oil and gas industry into a Hugo Chavez version. They loot, hand the loot to the bankers and cut deals for themselves and when the next accident happens no one will be able to respond and viola in will fly .gov and Captain Save A Well.

The whole industry is tanking and people at the top are strutting around like they are navigating us through these troubled times. My advice? When we get let go, find a new profession and if and when they want you back, just buy some solar panels and expand your organic garden.

With Houston only keeping one and a half of their current product lines people need to be prepared for a far more significant rif than previously experienced. By 2017 workforce could be reduced by 40-50%. No time to blame anyone, just get resumes current and start networking, it is a tough market and you need to get your ducks in a row.

The whole thing is really disgusting. While I agree that there was a certain amount of fat that needed to be trimmed, these MBA geniuses have taken a profitable company with an excellent work force and destroyed it in a little over a year. People's lives have been turned upside down, but do they give a sh--? Of course not...we know that. I just hope that some day they are all judged on their actions. Whether it be in this life or somewhere else, we all pay for our actions.

Yeah this sucks to see.

One of the best companies in the world Obamanized.

I guess it's like Hillary said "What difference does it make".

I'm sure protected groups will stay. The rest will get the shaft.

I also noticed all of the internal job postings being removed, it's likely that they were taken down so that employees who are part of the upcoming layoff can't argue that there were available jobs that they were qualified for. I guess this would eliminate some possible wrongful termination claims.

Along with HR I would like to think that Gremp and his cronies would go. But wait! They would get payouts like none of us will EVER come close to and that is really all they care about. Nobody in the FMC upper echelon gives a rats assabout anyone but themselves and how much money they will walk away with. They are all a bunch of phonies and It's a sad truth but that's the way big business is run these days. I also looked at the FMC Career board and there are no job postings. There is something very, very strange about that.

Anybody else notice all the internal job postings have been removed except for a PRE position in CA? Lots of weird behavior happening amongst middle management. Good luck to us all.
