I have been reading the posts from employees about everything under the sun. The people that are bitching about the company, the employees, I only have one question for you. What's it like being a god? obviously, you never did anything wrong in your life. You must be the perfect employee that never wastes a penny of the companies money. You obviously can do everybodies job better than they can. You certainly can run a multi billion dollar company without pissing off a single employee. So, what are you doing working for peanuts? I ran a business for 20 years. I can tell you from experience, no matter what you do for the employees, they will always find something to bitch at. For those who think the company should care about you, you're living in a dreamland. Companies act with their best interests at heart. If you think the head honchos sit in their offices and try to figure out which employee to screw over. You're out of your mind. You are a tool for the company to use as long as they need you, then you are discarded. Nothing personal, just business. If you think a company should care about you, then start a business and always put your employees welfare first. When the decision to chose between money and workers comes, if you chose the workers, you will go broke very fast. The problem is that everybody thinks they are armchair quarterbacks. My suggestion to everyone on this site is to worry about what you do and not anybody else. They don't pay your bills, so why should you care what they do. The grass is never greener on the other side. It just looks greener.

i work for a company who the owner care for us and go out of his way to made us feel as a part of the company. There are companies caring for there personnel
R u not perfect ? Trans...?
It looks like you are getting afraid of people being united....Just find a friend to share your emotions..Yes, we are the perfect people to include you as well..Don't worry, we don't need your money
So true. Look at what that asshat Nardelli did to Home Depot years ago. Totally f---ed up the company and then when the sh-- hit the fan, he bailed with a multi-million golden parachute. Tommy is so busy looking for a new job, he hasn't got the time to care about anything else. Hopefully tommy will go away soon and we can get someone else to guide to a prosperous future. We are a great company built on some solid principles, we just need an ethical leader. Tommy, consider this your notice. Move on to your next failure.
LOL! You are probably right! Too funny!
I don't think it's Tommy......I didn't see any misspelled words and it wasn't done in crayon..........I was watching an old episode of "Undercover Boss" last night and had the "What if" thing pop into my mind.....problem is Tommy couldn't name every location we have and couldn't find them without the jet or the pilot................lol
Tommy is it you?
Whoever posted this is f**ked up!
Sounds like something the corporate loving bitch in accounting would push in her phony happy assway!
The company tried to scale its business with expanding store footprints. Their timing was skewed. Customer habits and economics change on a dime vs. the ability of the company to adapt. Their version of adapting now is to cram a decade's worth of changes in the span of a year or worse.
In business the owners/executives need to focus on all facets of the business, that is customers, the bottom line/investors (greed), vendors/suppliers, and yes the employees, etc.... (not in any particular order). If the focus is place more on one and less on the others then the bearings on the "wheels" of the company/business will surely wear out.
To: FOR ALL THE PERFECT PEOPLE
You are obviously one of those privileged parasites and a conman who uses people to suck the life out of them for you own personal gain. You are probably incapable of doing anything except cheat and steal from us commoners.
You're wrong! It's definitely greener!
Boy, whoever made this post sounds like a very cold-hearted fool! Wouldn't want you for a boss!
There was once a time that cabelas did actually care about their employees. I bet Dick is spinning in his grave over what his dream has become.
Maybe it's time to bring collective bargaining into the game?
Perfect people...playing God? Sounds like whoever posted this think they are God. Sounds like you know a lot about running a company with your 20 years of experience and all. Maybe you should run Cabelas, with all your know all. Wait, could this be God talking here? Hmmmm....
Throwing out peoples names is unprofessional and disrespectful and very painful?! REALLY? What do you think the company did to those that were just let go? They were lied to, told they would still work until July 31. instead they were walked out that day, in shame, for everyone to see what's going on!So don't even go there about others getting butt-heart!
If you can't stand the heat in the kitchen, sir or lady, you need to stay out of the kitchen and quit drinking the kool-aid! like someone posted before, if it bothers you then don't read this. And by the way, the grass is greener on the other side. I've known that for a fact since the September layoffs! amen to that!
Throwing out people's names is very unprofessional and disrespectful. They are no different than you. It is also very painful.
It doesn't matter where I live. It's the same all over. Every town where there's a Cabelas or any other poorly managed chain store, it's the same. Try checking other companies on this site. Cabelas isn't any better or any worse. Unfortunately, if you run a business, money is always number 1. That's how it stays open for business. I don't like it either. But, that's Capitalism. At a large company like Cabelas, Walmart, Bass Pro, you are a number. Nothing more. The higher ups don't even know you're alive. All they care about is the bottom line. They will try all the hair brained stunts to try to make it better. I just hope the people that read your post and mine stop saying people are a waste of salary. Maybe if everybody had a chance to do every job, they would see jobs are far more stressful than they look. 42
If the comments are making you this angry stop clicking on the page. Everyone in this town is worried about their jobs and security of this town. Obviously you don't live in this area and don't know how many people have lost jobs and can't sell or rent houses/ apartments. Naming names on this site was wrong . This is employees way of venting .
I feel the problem with putting money first before employees is eventually that trickles down the salaries, which is great in the short term. There comes a point where you are paying 3 60k salaries +benefits, whereas you could have hired 1 person to do all 3 jobs for $85k. That person isn't going to come to the company because you didn't offer that pay. Although that would save the company ALOT of money, and at Cabela's, this situation is much more prevalent than some others.
Thank you!
Much greener over here since I left.
