Thread regarding FMC Technologies Inc. layoffs

Measurement employees nearly 100% united in belief that Arturo Valencia must go

Nearly EVERYONE (except Arturo's lackeys of course) are keenly aware that he has no plan, doesn't care about Measurement and is quickly destroying a once-profitable business unit. Customers are leaving because orders are not being filled...there's no one left to fill them. Arturo's plan? Install a software program to run the shop...yeah, OK. His stripping away of key positions, especially in manufacturing, and his complete disinterest in spending any time in Erie to actually learn about the business has not been lost on the remaining employees. So why isn't Houston stepping in? Who knows...but he's 'lost the locker room' so to speak. He's lost his employees who now view him as a joke...a very dangerous joke.

All you mean people need to quit picking on Jeffie Lantz. Poor guy was born with a "D" shaped blind hole about 3/4" deep right in the top of his scull and has had to live with it ever since.

I have actually discussed with some talented Engineers in Erie why they either left the company or transferred into another department and put aside an Engineering career at FMC. Everyone of them mentioned having to deal with Jeff Lantz as on of the deciding factors.

If you ask Lantz for an explanation of the high cost of producing a Genesis meter versus the competitive selling price that FMC can get for it, the answer is "That is Sourcing / Purchasing's problem". That statement was openly made by Jeff in an Engineering Team meeting. There are 3 members on the Lantz team " ME, MYSELF and I"

Make sure when Arty gets tossed over the wall to toss the Genesis Pd meter right behind him!

Do you think FMC values its employees? No! Everyone is just a number that "evaluations" "knowledge" "degree" "technical ability" "customer satisfaction" "quality" .......all are meaningless! The only way to grow within FMC is you have to kiss managements ass "The good old boys club"

I couldn't believe that for years, top shop floor management openly permitted a select few employees to walk the entire plant to collect empty aluminum cans while on the clock on a daily basis, it wasn't for housecleaning

MS is still suffering from the sins of past management that all were given their golden handshakes by Arty. Arty can't make the right decisions due to he has been mislead by ms past and present mgt. With the a large number of intellectual personal now gone it's seems Arty can't see who should of been cut a long time ago. Certain people could do no wrong. Design new meters that could not be manufactured and $ millions swept under the carpet. Arty. Does Jeff lantz mow your lawn too? And fix ur cars? Open your eyes! Make the right decision!

Congratulations Artie ... sounds like you succeeded in getting the troops in Erie to rally behind you. If there is anyone left who you suspect is not on board just get with Jim Smith and he'll fill you in on who the infidels are.

Without the advice and leadership of the Erie fishing club members, Erie manufacturing is suffering. We haven't had any daily fishing club meetings on the shop floor main aisle for a while now, nor any international offsite week long fishing conventions to plan any productive strategies. Should Artie be looking to hire them all back ?

I totally agree, they are setting Erie MS up for failure, that way they have a reason to pull it out of here and out of a union shop, they have never liked having a union shop. When dealing with a union you have to have a solid reason to pull up and move the work out of that shop and failure to meet expectations is a good way to do that. If they can prove the workforce is incompetent, that is less benefits they feel they will have to offer the displaced workforce. It may take a little time but the writing is on the wall, I worked there sometime ago and all the highly skilled employees who knew the Smith products have been let go or pushed into retirement. A company will never let on to their plan because they need the people remaining to still get the work done, or at least try so they can say we gave it everything we could to make it work and they FAILED!!

Good Luck Erie, move on now before all the GE people are out looking for work.

Maybe Erie and the people remaining have been set up for failure because that's all part of the Grand Scheme ... Think about it. You've been gutted to the point that you can barely operate. It's a common tactic used by upper management.

Hey Big John Gremp. Ya coming up for the Roar in Erie this year. Why don't you try riding your own bike up from Houston this time to save a little money for the company. You might want to leave now to get here in time for the parade.

Actually don't believe anyone in Houston gives a rats assabout Measurement Solutions or Erie. Never did and never will. All that stuff that came out of Gremp's mouth as he was getting ready to go on his Harley Davidson bike weekend two summers ago was nothing but bullshit. The best thing that could happen to Erie and it's product line would be that the new TechnipFMC sell it off and someone who is actually serious about the metering technology and the customers buy it.

After Trump finishes the wall Artie should be the first one thrown over it.
