YE Utilization of @70%, 2 PE's with both rated 2.. average firm activities for this fiscal.. assigned year end rating of 4.. "inconsistent performance" as conveyed by the PPD over the phone. Historically, my year end ratings last few years 2,2,1,2,2,3. Go figure.

Thanks 11 year itch! I think on the same lines as you. Getting laid off is a blessing in disguise. For the past year, i had no passion in me for Deloitte. I was never good at suguar coating and was starting to dislike the facade that people put on. I had been actively looking for jobs for the past month or two since I was anticipating a lay off. My boss started to take things off my plate without giving me a reason since April which gave away their true intentions. So much politics, I dont even know where to begin the story telling.
Sally: Best of luck with your job hunt.. hopefully you have your network outside of the firm.. and recruiters lined up. I am amazed at how few true leaders exist at the firm.. could count them with 1 finger pretty much.
I got laid off this month over the phone after 7 years with Deloitte. They said it was due to performance. But the reality is that PCAOB took away the 20% outsourcing cap and Deloitte's vision is to send as much work to india as possible. Also my local office lost few big clients in Audit. And the innovation people waste a ton of resourses in flights, hotels and food for 2 weeks every month for all its professionals. They paid for people to stay in NJ who were coming from NY, isint that insane? Well, after few years of such stupidity, the firm is revaluating internal professionals need to travel.
Deloitte's SAP practice is very slow. Even now many practitioners are on bench. They recruited some last year and still they are on bench. Could be the reason for layoffs. They laidoff many ppl from Atlanta, Boston, Chicago.
I just take my layoff as a blessing in disguise.. and use it as motivation .. I worked with so many talented folks in IM.. I like to keep those memories, though it's hard sometimes to forget how the firm treatedd you like a number.. especially after many many years.. gotta move on... still have tremendous admiration for a lot of the folks I worked with.
It just happened to me recently. PE's 3,3,2 and Utilization of 92%. Still laid off saying inconsistence performance. Not only me 6 o my friends from other cities were laid off too and they will bring ppl from other countries on H1visa. Overall this year Deloitte SAP practice is very slow what I heard from P/P/D.
92% utilization and YE rating of 3 and they released you? Which service line? Which office?
I believe Deloitte is not doing well over the past two years. But instead of saying there are no projects, they are saying your performance is not good and letting people go. May be they do not like to call it layoffs.
Had 92% utilization and YE rating of 3. Still PPD said on the basis of performance we are letting you go.
@6sni - I'd say it's fairly stupid to let people go over the phone after 11 years of dedicated service and such a great performance record. Just my two cents though buddy...
11 years.. how did they do what? Phone call, if you are asking how they fired. It's all business, and a fair amount that's personal too..lol
I'm sorry to hear that. How long were you with the firm? How did they do it? I fear that is what is happening to me tomorrow with a meeting invite that simply has "talent discussion" from a director that I've never worked with is a section of Deloitte (audit) that I do not work in.
