I don't know how accurate this is, but I received a call from a buddy at Intel SC. She told me that there's a move to issue offer letters this qtr instead of waiting for the 3rd qtr. she also mentioned that entire groups may go away, particularly support groups, a good chunk of sales and FAEs, as well as Finance.
I really hope she's wrong.
Well, this quarter just closed out, and no letters were issued, so I guess we are okay for now.
Yea. I've heard similar rumblings.
I don't think the earlier offer letters will come to fruition. Intel has already paid out a number of severance packages this year. I don't think they'll want to book more until later in the year.
As far as groups going away completely, I do think that happens. Yes, particularly employees in support groups. Finance dept here is likely done. Sales just hasn't been great for some time, and Intel claims it will be giving some development tools away for free, so I do think all of sales, from Account Managers to FAEs could be at risk.
