More on the way
CGG is going into bankruptcy, if you are reading this you should plan your exit !
CGG head offices vastly over recruited in the good times and promoted many unnecessary management positions, creating a rolls of corporate fat.
When the good times ran out, the head office management initially stole projects from the satellite centres, starved them of work and then closed them on the basis they were no longer profitable. Skilled staff were dumped, no effort was made to find new positions or a fair redundancy pool with workers from other centres. Hard working people were evicted with below industry poor payoff and no offer to support retraining.
In the head offices they are now making redundant 30 people within the production teams who generate cash. Soon all that will be left are layers and layers of managers who are all clubbed together to protect their jobs.
In short this is a disappointingly managed company and the word 'integrity' so proudly used many years ago to describe the business was kicked out, first when CGG bought Veritas and second when Ian Thornton left.
