The biggest challenge in selling the business is the technology within the unit's portfolio of products, Lekraj said. The lack of investment made by McKesson in the business over the last five or so years position it as second- or third-tier to the technology of healthcare IT peers the likes of Cerner (CERN) and privately held Epic Systems, the analyst explained.
