Ete is up 5 percent today, looks like the merger is toast. It is probably better for Williams in the long run anyway, they might be better off merging with another company or spinning some assets to pay debt down. After reading the recent articles, Ete doesn't seem to have what it takes to be a leader in this industry, gave up way too easily when the price of oil dipped temporarily.

They can still make a deal before Friday, they should do this and complete the merger, it can still happen.
The insiders know something, technically the deal is not dead but the action of the stocks this morning indicate if is.
It's not over until it is.
