I'm a reporter with Business Insider looking for some insight into the recent layoffs — and what happens next at Microsoft. If you were affected, or if you're still there, and you'd like to talk, my address is mweinberger@businessinsider.com. I can guarantee anonymity.

Confirming eNodeBs note posted by @wqo - we just do not know whats in it. Matt may want to check out Intel's board here with thousands of messages and a ton of people willing to spill beans. Microsoft will have a resource meltdown later this year - I have limited insight as I am in MSO, but I am predicting that 4 to 8 thousands will be laid off.
Why don't you do a story on Nokia instead? They are cutting 10000 to 15000. About 4000 in Europe and no one is talking about where the rest of the 11000 are going to be. Most likely in USA, I imagine. I think that would be a more interesting store since the revenues are coming from big USA customers (VzW, ATT, Sprint) and majority of the layoffs may happen in USA. Also, another thing I don't understand is that USA doesn't want Huawei's wireless network but Nokia/Ericsson/Alcatel-Lucent all have software developers working on eNodeB's (the heart of the wireless base station) being developed in China. And the Huawei development building is just a few blocks away from the ALU development building.
So the software for the eNodeBs is done in China and then sold in USA as ALU/Ericsson products. So what makes the USA government think that there is no spy software in the ALU/Ericsson products if it's coded in China. Since there are millions of lines of code, can ALU/Ericsson guarantee that the code has no spy software.
Matt - I do not think anyone will speak out here, people are afraid to disclose identities and there are no major cuts happening right now (even though many of us anticipate that cuts will be coming sometime in 2016) - you may want to try it on Twitter or Facebook and see if people will Direct Message you...
I have been monitoring this site for a couple of months now and the info is sporadic and limited, I left in 2013 after 11 years, so I cannot give you any fresh info, but yes, I'd try social media...
Good luck and I hope you find something...
