Thread regarding Marathon Oil Corp. layoffs

Marathon Oil is a JOKE

I first started with marathon a few years back and quickly realized after coming from a major oil company that this has to be a joke. Marathon acts like this is their first time in an oil patch, but I guess that is because of the lack of leadership in the company. Leaders are born, not made with your little leadership classes. Some of marathon's management is SA barely has a backbone much less any leadership abilities. This company has no values, ethics, or sense of responsibility towards its employees. To allow nepotism to take place amongst the company is proof that this company is out of touch with reality, there is a lot of covering up for one another because of this. How is that a contractor has more rights and privileges than an MOC employee??? Marathon Oil is the bottom of the barrel when it comes to oil companies. The only ones who praise and approve of Marathon obvisouly haven't been anywhere else, this is their first oilfield gig.

The control freak was probably drinking but that doesn't stop this person from bullying others throughout the day. Surely comes from a miserable life.

I love the people talking trash about people posting and being on here....with post on here! Glad you all have time to come on here to tell people on here they don't have a life. God bless you gentleman!

They are also the ones who think layoffs have only impacted low performers and they are magical high performers. Pull your heads out of your ass you're not special or smart, you just happen to be in the right group while people better than you were laid off.

And news flash in case you're as out of touch with industry as tillman, oil prices crashed a little while back. So that whole 'if you're not happy just leave and work elsewhere' bs doesn't apply.

Did DBJJ get a couple o' bottles of wine in 'er and come on here to rant?

No one left it is a "poor performer". Au contraire, if you've made it this far the company must think you are the beezneez. Whoever is calling out those who criticize the incompetence of the executive leadership (and not so executive) as poor performers is either: A) completely clueless; or B) a corporate shill.

Marathon IS a joke. Shenandoah for pennies. Throwing away GoM leases. Doubling down on $70+ breakeven shale assets. Laying off one-third of its workforce. Wyoming for half its value. Share buybacks. Equity offerings. Dividend cuts. Share value falling 75%. All of it.

You're a control freak and probably a key person who shows favoritism. You especially like those who don't work all day and are underdogs to top it off.

Agreed.

Move on, on your own or you will be pushed out.

Poor performance will no longer be tolerated. Clearly you cannot pull your own weight. So step away from the donuts - you are not wanted - and we are done listening to you bitch about all the things you think you are entitled to. Bye bye to your precious site where you got to piss and moan to try to compensate for all of your inferiorities with no accountability.

How sad are your lives...

You are not favored because you are a poor performer. End of story.

If you don't like working for the company, resign and go work somewhere else instead of complaining on this website. It's sad when adults act like children.

Agreed about the nepotism, especially in the EagleFord. San Antonio management is spineless and is a weak leader. Managere bringing their sons, daughters, brother-in-laws, etc. No hope, but Occidental Oil Co. looking to expand in the EagleFord, so there is hope.

Nepotism is alive and well. Favoritism and covering up for others who lack are treated well. Who is the angry guy who shows up on these threads about trolls from the outside? He needs a 12 step program. The person who started this tread is absolutely right.

Thanks for your opinion Lee!

As a trusted father of Si7 I value your opinion and agree that this company is screwed under your leadership.

Or they came from Cameron...

Schlumberger jettisoned all the Cameron POS once they figured out who did the work and who were incompetent. 99% of the Cameron employees were the later...

These rejects are gems at Marathon Oil as they will do anything they are told.
