Sorry we lost 1000 good people, but for those of us still here the world is getting brighter. Thanks for taking the fall for us. Devon will be the best turn-around story in 2016.

Agreed. Since I was laid off Devon has hired 3 contractors, doesn't make any sense.
Saying this doesn't make it true. PE watched the budget (big fu*king deal), the BU's made the money. PE contributed very very little to these efforts. The PE overhead is excessive and lethargic. Project Execute is crazy for thinking this. Project Management at it worst is what is going on at Devon and the PM's are clueless. Most departments went to bat for the Devon Employees, PE kick them to the curve and kept contractor. No loyalty, no ethics, liars and cheats. VH
First of all, it wasn't the layoffs that helped.
It was the rebound in commodity prices.
When these prices are higher, it gives the Project Execution team the opportunity to revisit the portfolio of projects and execute on projects that bring the company money!
The project execution team has had a very successful quarter as a result of this rebound and we will not be laying off any more people.
Thanks a lot for your help John we could have done it without you. Certainly your vision with SAP made all the difference. Rather than pissing away money on the stack play when it was $400 an acre we implemented a computer system for a large company that doesn't really exist anymore. Hopefully, BP can make use of it to calculate your buyout payments.
I believe some of the people posting on here a grade school children.
People lost their jobs, and yes, show some class .
