Intel should first for all immigrants on temporary work visa. If these people are H1b they are released back into the economy. If they are not needed they should return home. So I assume we fired 12000 h1b workers?

No you dumbass!....these 12000 job cuts are world wide. Other countries are also impacted, where locals are fired.
If you are this clueless, you deserve to be fired.
although this may be partly a good idea at individual project/team level, you are somewhat responsible if you are laid off because you should have asked to be on important projects while you still had a job
