What does ACICS do all day? Exactly what they get paid (by these scam schools) to do.. nothing.

Pure insanity!

A small operation overseeing a bunch of for-profit schools, with ITT-Tech alone taking in nearly a billion dollars in revenue from students (via loans from taxpayers).

Wasn't it the fact that Bernie Madoff used a funky little accounting firm that that tipped off a few watchdogs?

@Htb3O5p-4wjh, how large of company is ACICS? I wonder how many full-time workers they have.

What does ACICS do all day? Not as much as the Arizona state nursing board. In consent agreements between ITT-Tech and the Arizona nursing board, the nursing board lists many violations at the ITT-Tech nursing program in Arizona. The nursing board issues sanctions against the program. The problems have been happening for years. The program is now closed, finally.

Consent agreements are published on nursing board websites, so everyone can see what is happening. Does ACICS let students know what is going on with programs it is monitoring? I can't find any info posted by ACICS about specific programs, though hundreds of ITT-Tech programs may have accreditation withdrawn November, 2016, (from ITT-Tech/ESI 2015 annual report/10-K).

Here is a link to Arizona nursing board's list of violations, in the 2015 consent agreement.

Note many of the problems are systematic with the way ITT-Tech does business - faulty catalogs, not following standard "best practices" for education programs, curriculum dictated by ITT-Tech corporate, on and on and on.

I am a former employee 1999-2009, 5 locations and HQ. I will be speaking and giving comment at the meeting in D.C. next month. I am interested in connected with more former (or current) employees on the accreditation process. Please contact me on Twitter @luna_visions of you are interested in getting involved with the public comment period against the renewal of ACICS.

The committee will also accept oral comments on the matter during its meetings June 22-24. Comment applications can be e-mailed to the committee (ThirdPartyComments@ed.gov) or registered at the meeting site by 8:30 a.m. on June 22.
