APC has $18 billion of debt and cannot survive this downturn. So more layoffs for the rest of the year. Sit back and enjoy the ride while you can.
If you can stay put, a peace of mind is priceless. continue to look but dont do anything on emotions.
It is tough, but keeping your job for now should be enough. There are very few oil and gas jobs out here, so don't be so fast to want out the door. Keep getting the check and insurance as long as you can, and you will be way ahead of a lot of other people. The severance most likely will not outlast the downturn. It is tough, but you still have a job.
Been there, done that. I sat in my office February - March 10 in the Granite Tower and waited for the day that inevitably came. The canned speech was given and the blue folder was handed over. I was escorted to the elevator and driven home. Incredibly degrading and humiliating, but I am glad it's over. I have since moved on.
