Intel has rattled the cage, I hope theyre watching this site. I got promoted last year, if they offered me VSP I would be looking for a job right now to replace my current position. And all the people I talk to in my situation feel the same way.
Intel will lose most of its reliable talent eventually.

Wasn't offered (ee & promo in last 2 years), but would gladly take it. I'm still hoping they'll offer it more broadly after 2nd.
xlt it's that "people as machines" thinking from the industrial revolution that is WHY Intel is in so much trouble now. You can treat people like machines and get away with it in the short run but you will never innovate. This is Intel's problem: if they want to make everyone replaceable they can, but in doing so they eliminate creativity and risk-taking, stifling the only thing that can possibly save them... ironic, and also poetic justice.
I would take VSP in a heart beat- wasn't offered :-(
the sad truth is that people feel more valuable and indisposable than they really are.. feel you're a superstar because you got promoted last year? think that Intel will sink like the Titanic because of your departure and others like you? think again, you'd be doing intel a favor.. they'll move your tasks to equally or more competent and skillful folks abroad, working at a fraction of the cost..
Kill half the worker bees
Not just "will" lose. It has already lost former employees with may years of invaluable experience.
