HR team started again background check and I heard samsung wants to terminate employees who doesn't have proper employment records, even big companies getting closed, cannot expect small consultancy to live on for more years, How can samsung expect reply from them after many years?
I heard they will indicate terminate reason in releaving letter which could cause issue to next move,
Did any one got terminated that way with indicating in releaving letter?
In the USA that is normal for a company, big or small, to check to see if their employees are legally able to work in the USA. Some do it every year, some do it at hiring, just depends.
If they don't do it (the background check) and the INS finds out, then the company faces big fines.
I worked at a company many years ago that got raided by the INS. Company was in silicon valley (yes high tech and high pay) and about 20 workers were put on a bus back to Mexico. They were getting their phony green cards at the San Jose flea market.
