I work in the Bread & Rolls department of the Wegmans manufacturing plant on Brooks Ave. we have been informed that later this summer all of the sliced white breads will be outsourced to Pepperidge Farms. As a result 91 jobs are being eliminated and 26 new jobs will be created in there place. Therefore 65 people are going to lose their position in the company. I personally will be taking a $5.86/hour pay cut. I've been in the company over 10 years and my pay grade is going back to where it was in year 1. I'm sure you can imagine how this feels. I've essentially wasted a decade of my life in a company I thought I'd retire in. It's extremely disheartening to hear everyone outside of the company talk about how great Wegmans is. They've got you all fooled. They DEFINITELY care much more about profit than their people.
