Laid off! THANKS to Devon Energy politics. They could only say it's not performance based, when asked [oh it's not age either and not seniority! 30 years of industry experience vs many others under 5 years with same job title ....go figure. No option to reduce our vacation accrual or pay cut to keep your job. just bye bye see you around.

They don't want experience, they want a bunch of "yes" men to come in and go with the flow...
Best of luck finding something where you are appreciated...
Devon likes the ones who are always over budget on their projects, don't know sh--, and can suck a golf ball thru a garden hose!
"Not performance based", that's what they told all of us back in February, but yet our severance packages said we were ranked on our "performance, potential, skill sets and needs of the business".
They kept the two of the lowest performers in our department, kept two contractors, hired 2 more contractors to replace the two Devon employees who were laid off.
It doesn't make sense. Devon's attributes don't mean sh--, they want people to buy into their"attributes", but they have none of them. I know for a fact my performance review was the best in my department, but I was the first to go!
How did you have the same job title after 30 years?
So you were only as smart as a 20 year old after 30 years of experience?
Yeah I know how you feel, 36 years out the door,it's age discrimination I think.
