Cutting half is a big number. At one point there were 107k blue badge people and almost 70k green badge, there will be very little left of the Intel we know. I work in an analog validation lab, and for the last four my manager has been saying (we have nothing to sell, this company will go bankrupt) he has been there 20 years and is taking the early retirement offer. Sad to see, getting ramped up to test chips that never PRQ. Billions of dollars was lost trying to make a mobile chip with a modem in it, never happened. It will be interesting to see what the company looks like in a few years, now only SSDs and server processors with imbedded FPGAs (from the Altera acquisition) are supporting any growth. I wonder how the people from Altera feel about what is going on around them. Well I expect to walked out pretty soon, the anger and pain in the air is unbearable. Best of luck to those who remain…
