Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

I have to put my hands together for the folks posting on the Intel site

I work for Nokia and they are planning to have 15000 people cuts between now and 2018. Most of them will occur in USA since USA is high cost region and about 4300 are planned for Europe (which leaves 11700). There are top level executives who know how many people and when it will happen, but the USA executives are not talking. They think if they keep their mouths shut, they will be able to keep their jobs. But eventually, the USA executives will also go since Nokia is a Finland company.

No employee of Nokia is posting on the Nokia layoff site regarding the cuts. No one is sharing any information.

But I have to put my hands together for the Intel employees who are sharing information about cuts and helping each other find jobs on this site. I wish Nokia employees were this active in sharing information.

I have been on this site for about two years now, daily. It was quiet at first, a message every week or so. The more messages people posted the more peers found site thru search as there was more content. If I were you I would start posting in Nokia site, more content will encourage others to post.

Also, send a note to admins and let them know that cuts are coming, give them details etc. they can push it in twitter and DM journalists too. They also push things through Facebook, give them locations too. Open a fake email they do not need to know who you are.

Sorry for typhos - on mobile

No, nothing specific about USA cuts. Initially, 900 million euro's of cuts was planned between now and 2018, but now our CEO tells us there will be more than 900 million euro's in cuts.

Nokia has 2/3 more people then Alcatel-Lucent (which has 1/3 the amount in mobile networks group) + they now have the top three USA customers (VerizonWireless, ATT, Sprint) which they inherited from buying ALU + ALU products are superior in features and performance since these products were built based on what VzW and ATT wanted

AND now they are planning to cut people in USA and get rid of the ALU products.

I don't understand why VzW/ATT would agree to swap out ALU product with Nokia product. They must be getting a discount on the upcoming 5G product would be my guess.

Ha. So it looks like the Nokia execs little game has been exposed, and they are just shuttering in fear. They could not care less about those below them who will be sacrificed, after which their game will be finished. So sad. Let them feel the same emotions that we have had. Those once dedicated employees working many more hours than we should have, and yet thrown out with the nightly leftovers.

When they drag you out of your desk. Order you to unlock your laptop and phone. Force you to sign a waiver under extreme pressure. March you out of the building without allowing you back to your desk. Slam the for behind you saying you will never work here again. And in the nothing you woke up not knowing what was ahead. I think if this happens at Nokia a few more people will comment

Sorry, there is a typo in my posting : That's 10700 remaining cuts left outside of Europe.
