Thread regarding Devon Energy Corp. layoffs

Unethical behavior going on in Midstream regarding pay and hours!!!!!

There are several contractors who are classified as "hourly" but when they work OT they are only paid straight time. Federal law stipulates how hourly people are supposed to be paid for OT (which is time and half) and I don't understand how the management within this group is getting away with it.

There are people who are travelling on company business but are not allowed to put their full hours .......total from point A to B is 13 hours but they are told they can only put and be paid for 9.

Very very wrong!!!!!

This is minor and something they don't try to hide, just think of what is really going on.

If you just look at the hours the contractors are working, some of them may be working long hours several days a week and get paid straight time for the OT hours worked. I worked as a contractor at Devon for awhile and the company that employed me was very specific that you had to clock 40 hours before any overtime was paid. And then it was paid only if your direct supervisor or manager approved it. If you look at the total picture, you will probably find that. . .

therein lies the problem.

It's not specifically Devon's fault, although there may be some that would use that to their advantage on their projects.
