Thread regarding National Oilwell Varco Inc. layoffs

Pampa

What is going to happen when all there is left is office people to do the production work? Seems like they are immune to being laid off.

Labor rates are low because this plant pays it's workers lower than it should. This plant is known in town as a place that lies to employees. It's known for not giving raises, it's known for having terrible management. It's well known the more you kiss assthe higher up you go. I hope the oil field pics up, but NOV Pampa will never change, unorganized, inept people running the plant dug in like ticks, sucking the blood out of the plant & good employees!

Logan, what a joke. Nobody could do his job, your an idiot. Why are parts getting lost is what you should try to figure out. But your post shows the thinking in the plant, the same problems keep happening. The same people keep doing poor jobs & nothing happens to them if they work in the brick, or if they are supervisors. Stick your head back in the sand & tell yourself all is well. Actually pull you head out of your ass or Kellerman's ass& see what is actually happening!

The people can build anything. A lot of what you said is true, but you still have incompetent, asskissing, people in top places. Most of the names have been mentioned here. Until you get rid of them the plant will never be what it can be!

Lets really think about this. #1 NOV is closing plants across the world, the vast majority of these locations are leased buildings. NOV owns the Pampa plant. Even if they close production here they will still have to pay property taxes here, there will still be utilities for the warehouse and service. #2 labor rates in Pampa Texas are among the lowest across the nation. #3 Pampa is centrally located in the USA #4 Personal property and property taxes are the lowest in Texas #5 Someone has to build products from the other closed plants #6 The people in pampa are among some of the brightest in this company, put shortly we can build anything we put our minds to.

If we could all find a way to get along Pampa NOV could be a bright spot in NOV, a go to place for the entire company, However in order to do so we must change attitudes and want it to work, Logan is a pan in the ass however who would step up and do what he does? He is in fact the one single guy that really drives what we do here. Who is going to keep parts flowing? Who is going to go find the missing parts? Who is going to go against the flow to make sure that replacement shaft gets out the door on time? THINK ABOUT IT FOLKS we need the guy! So stop the bitching, step up, and ask what can I do to help this place out!

Any idiot can read a print, build & weld up a bunch of metal into a working part. A moron can put together a mud pump, or gear box. It takes no brains to machine a part to 1 thousandths tolerance. So with all the dipshits in the brick Pampa will go on forever!

They are immune from drug tests, which explains who Logan still has a job. That & the oral sex & salad tossing!

It says something about the effeciency if a plant when there are more people doing paper work than producing a product. NOV itself doesn't see oil rebounding until next year at the earliest. Pampa will be closed by then, the people like Nelson, Logan, Marquez will find it hard to find a job where they can be that incompetent.

They'll all be laid off at once when NOV pulls the trigger and close the place. It's only a matter of time now and the only saving grace you have is you might be a tax write off.
