Thread regarding Education Management Corporation layoffs

What do you think? More to come?

So are there more layoffs to be expected in June? Or, was the online layoff it for this round?

I can't imagine any Art Institute being able to function if you remove 50 employees from their current workforce. I question the veracity of that post. It doesn't make sense.

When management tells you not to worry, it's time to worry.

The ground ai campuses still get hit huge in June. (As many as 50 positions in some campuses). The center layoffs are unrelated other than all of the layoffs need to be done before the new fiscal year begins.

I would not worry about it as long as all employees (which they undoubtedly do) provide the transformative experience to our students and employees that we always strive to provide. Feel confident that we have a proven track record in truly taking care of the needs both emotionally and educationally of all our students and employees. Because as you know, where would we be without the dedication and hard work of so great a work force? What more can I say? Just don't worry- it's ok- and stay the course. Your leadership cares about YOU! Don't hesitate to drop by HR and make your feelings known. We'd sure like to know. Remember, we are here for you, as always. Oh, and while we are having this kumbayah moment- padding the clock will heretofore be dealt with without mercy! You've been warned!
