After hitting the stock option jackpot in the bay area, I bought 4 sfh in Santa Clara during the downturn. And I am happy to say, I love my H1B tenants that's been renting from me for about $3900/month for the past 3-4 years. I appreciate them being here for the next 5-6 years waiting for a green card before they make any home purchases. That $3900/month is great on covering the $2100/month mortgage and ptax and maintenance, and that extra $1800/month in net income per house certainly is helping me send my kids to the best private college they got in to.
And the best part is once they get their green card and move out 5-6 years later, there's many more of them that will be starting out too.
And I do appreciate that while they are on h1b, they are paying federal, state, and social security taxes.I mean, even if they can't stay herein the u.s., I am glad that their tax payments allowed me to collect my social security check when I retire well before they would be able to collect.
Thanks you h1bs. Your hard work is appreciated so that I can sit on my lazy ass
