Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

What gets businesses (not just Intel) in trouble...

The problem is they never look ahead or fail to see the big picture. They pull sh-- like having massive layoffs when they are still extremely profitable, offshoring, cutting benefits, etc and then they act surprised when they get hit with gov't regulation, union talk, or nominees like Trump.

Importantly they sink the business and then blame it on anything except their own foolish decisions. look at intel, they could've dominated every aspect of computing but non-technical, clueless management with a fat layer of powerpoint ninjas known as middle management are dragging it down, all good, technical people are being push down and out. They will fail at 5G, IoT, cloud, much like whatever they started before and main pc business disappearing too, It won't be long before the end "the fish rots from the head down."

If Intel goes down in flames, there better not be a bailout for them.

This is what gets business in trouble.

  1. Create frivolous requirement of advanced degree for menial jobs to eliminate US born candidates. Hire foreign PhDs as fab rats to do your process development and sustaining. Celebrate the cost savings through hiring cheap H1Bs.

  2. Dont let anyone question you about why PhD degree is a requirement for fab rats. Make generous use of words like R&D, high tech, cutting edge in your job req to prevent suspicion from USCIS.

  3. Promote the guy who came up with this brilliant idea (Sohail) to VP position so he can propogate this business model throughout the company.

The H1Bs are only killing time till they can get their green cards. Soon your process development is way behind schedule. Now you've lost your only saving grace. Intel is no longer the keeper of moore's law. Your short term H1B hire savings have destroyed your business model.
