Thread regarding Zenith Education Group layoffs

How much Longer! Can a campus keep losing money? When will Zenith finally close the doors and call it quits?

I see staff around me daily who do not believe in the company or in what they do. No one believe that we are changing lives for the good. Many don't believe they will be employed past June! I feel sorry for the people who keep dreaming for another day when that day is gone. Now ACICS....how do we explain to the graduates that our accreditation was a joke. You MUST believe in what your selling or you can't make a campus succeed.

Please explain how terminating assistant Deans, flunking students and raising academic standards is going to INCREASE student population? The schools are failing because there is a of lack of students, not because of the reasons you listed. Look at all career schools across the country, most are in the same situation. Mass layoffs, closing and consolidating campuses with many on the verge of bankruptcy. Even the major universities and community colleges are suffering from low enrollment numbers. The local state university has seen enrollments decrease by 22% since 2010 and have had to reduce staff. There are many reasons for the decrease in higher education enrollments, stagnate wages and the huge increase in college tuition cost are just two of them. Would you be willing to take on 30 to 60 thousand dollars in loans to get a job making 10 to 15 dollars an hour? The average starting wage for a career college graduate is $12.00 an hour.

Get rid of the bleeding heart Assistant Deans that are really ruining the online division, they finally moved one of them out of online to a corporate training position, what a waste of a paycheck. There are a couple more to get rid of, once they get rid of these types and get some real educators with ethics in, they need to change the name, flunk those that don't do the work and try to raise the academic standards. Its possible it could work, but do nothing and the school just fails.

Right now, all Everest has is a system in place. They could try to use it to become a decent school, but they need to make some tough decisions, name change, bleeding heart liberals fired, don't let the students just pass, etc.

They want to run the schools like a community college. Good luck with that, completion rates of less than 20%.

I am surprise that Zenith has taken such a LARGE revenue loss so far. No way can a SMART corporation continue to operate in the RED. WAKE UP...June will prove it by new lay-offs, teach-outs, and campus closures.

There are plenty of full time jobs out there. Problem is there are only a few experienced people in this system. Many cannot get a real full time job so they hide here.

How can you believe in what you sell if you do not employee honest people to train it? It's the training that destroyed it. You cannot lie on resumes, hire the wrong staff and expect results, results come from experience. There is no experience just hugs and kisses

I have noticed that the job market is booming, maybe not in your skill set or area. For my skills and area the job market is booming. All i was pointing out that if they think it is a bad situation it might get worse for them. Now isn't the time to stall

1map: Financial aid is not the only thing the students don't have. Check out proof of graduation!

A lot of employees are looking for other opportunities. If you've noticed, the job market isn't the greatest. Plenty of part time jobs but not many full time good paying jobs out there.

Someone relay that message to the idiot in Texas who is putting students in class with no Financial aid.

So why aren't they looking for jobs since there is 23 days left in May? Must be a crappy way to live if they are worried yet aren't doing anything about it. No one is forcing them to stay.

All remaining campuses must be self supporting past June. If not, the campus will taught out or consolidated with another campus. That is the word from ECMC, they will not continue to fund inefficient campuses. Their investment is nearing the 300k and that is the maximum amount the board is willing to lose.
