The tech industry has a strong network of relationships - Paypal / ebay alums played key roles in Google, FB and so on. Same holds for ex-IBMers. But the ex-Intel network is the WEAKEST.
Possible causes :
The gladiatorial contests at Focal breaks peoples into winners and losers
Those so ejected carry a strong resentment - valid or otherwise, which overcomes any post-Intel bonds
There really is not much to transfer outside of Intels' ecosystem
