Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Can the recent hires who got ssl4 and given ISP sue Intel for not hiring them at the correct grade level?

Getting SSL4 at grade 7 means they would have done fine at grade 6. Maybe there should be a grade adjustment time at one year anniversary.

That is pretty buzzard argument. I think intel has more chance to win if they counter sue arguing you misrepresented yourself to get a job that you failed to perform.

Grade 7 can get ssl4. Original argument says that candidate would have performs fine at grade 6 and would have received ssl3 at grade 6.

In the mean time the Chinese is on coarse to creating their own competitive server chip with believe it,or not AMD. How they are able to license out the x86 with Intel's blessing, is beyond me.

Bad example. Compare grade 7 vs 8.

You may be clueless, but you cannot get SSL4 at Grade 6.

I can't see how this is not a major distraction; grade level expectations, grade level ratings, stock level received. No wonder Intel keeps getting their butts kicked when ever they take on a new project.....people need to be inspired and not treated like narrow minded programmable robots.

HR doesn't set it for experienced hire. You get compared with other employees at the same grade level to determine ssl. That is the reason they had rule #2 and #3. To save ppl who are new to the grade (promoted previous year) giving them an extra year to adjust. Recent hires in 2014 with just a few months of contribution had no real chance of EE/O.

The grade scale number aligns with a set of expectations.....you dont need to know the number just the expectations.

I would agree that HR likely sets the grade scale rather than your boss. And Intel mass hires so you probably never interview with your eventual boss.

What a backassward hiring process!

You can sue for any reason. Whether you will actually prevail is another story.

Grade level expectations are not universally known and they don't hand out expectation sheet for each grade level when we negotiate offer.

It's up to you when accepting the job to do the due diligence into the level of the position and the duties before accepting.
