Thread regarding Devon Energy Corp. layoffs

Why would you choose a data architect over a PE? (C over G, you picked wrong). This makes little sense to me. Devon putting IT people over business functions is just plain stupid. The existing Manager of E&P Data Management is costing Devon more money with wild ideas. Lets just spend more money to redo it my way!! Please Devon leaders look into this useless spending. Work on reducing cost. Okay here is another great Idea, but an Accounting Manager over Information Technology. Someone who has no real understanding of software development, a bean counter. No wonder he wants to out source everything. Who picks these people? No wonder Devon is going to Hell in a hand basket.
