Question about capability of INTEL Senior Executive Management: do you really trust their visions???

These newer chips will be necessary to power the infrastructure for the emerging Internet of things market, in which airplanes, electrical grids and other devices are connected to the web. Bryant believes that these “billions of devices” will “dwarf” the number of mobile devices currently being used and represents a big opportunity for Intel.

With this excerpt from Diane's Bryant interview, I would like to ask very simple question: do you really trust INTEL Senior Executive Management's visions???

Do you think their visions are truthful, successful, impartial... Maybe they are doing PRs like this one out of hopeless desperation?! Or this is just a game so they stay as long as they can and enjoy the ride on somebody's else sweat, flash and blood?

All PR. Hard to believe anything it out by the executive staff. Intel doesn't win anymore.

I ask are the senior management really great technologist or just hard work on the intel of old that got them to the top.

The time is now for for management to do more than talk about cutting cost, cloud, IoT, Those in the company should see executives open and honest about the situation and open and honest discussion of the strategy, those that are smart in the audience will be floored with the brilliance or walk away like we do now, totally unimpressed.

No wonder people feel so sad at work and no longer want to work hard.

end node, not end note

There's enough double speak to make her statement mean about anything. If she's talking about the cloud side then Intel's success to capture and maintain a extraordinary margin depends on delivering a significant performance advantage. There won't be billions of units there.

If she means the end note of all those IoT devices, then it's a battle with ARM. Remember the microcontroller market that Intel owned in the 80s but then couldnt proliferate fast enough and had to license the core to many other companies (and collect royalties).? That's ARM today. These are going to be cheap, light computing, optimized parts. Intel won't like those margins.

If IoT really becomes pervasive, I don't see Intel being a player in the high volume side. Right now it's the flavor of the day and demo-ware. Apple has a chance to make it happen if anyone,, but it depends on near disposable, near zero cost silicon and that not Intel.

She's preaching the party line like a good lieutenant.

Only an IdiOT would place airplanes and power-grid on the "Internet...," but I wouldn't put it past them...
