Employees are being sacked in every department from IT to Operations. People with over 10 years and entire teams are being let go today.

35 people laid off, 20 people relocated to field.
Peet's went from their best year (even giving 20% bonuses) to layoffs. They have been slowly removing the small perks of working there, as in free pastries Monday mornings, free fruit Wednesdays, and soon removing coffee 101 classes. The morale of this company has gone down. The leadership team made a horrible decision without even putting thought into what roles should have been eliminated. Peet's deserves this outcome for being so greedy and overworking their employees. They should have laid off the leadership team and replaced their positions with lower paid salaries. But hey, this is American and they are only thinking for themselves and not the 30 something families affected by this.
Peet's truly is a different company than it was years ago. The culture is really bad now and people are seen as expendable at every level, regardless of how long they've worked hard to grow the company. My sympathies to those affected by this round of layoffs.
I can confirm this, my wife was in IT and she was let go. Good luck to all.
