For chairs, their performance review includes recruiting efforts (35% of everything they do). This percentage might change each year. However, reentries Say a chair is "required" to get 15 reentries per quarter (60 per evaluation year)...well, in reality they might get 12 in the first quarter so the lack of 3 must be made up in the next quarter, (now get 18)...but maybe they only get 13...so now the lack of 5 must be made up in next quarter (get 20), but they can only get 10, so the last term they only have gotten 35 and need to get 25 MORE for 60 for their eval...of course that means HIGH PRESSURE procedures.

"Chairs" are for sitting in, right??? ...
Get a dictionary if you are really that confused.
noun
plural noun: chairs
- the person in charge of a meeting or organization (used as a neutral alternative to chairman or chairwoman).
"Chairs" are for sitting in, right???
Now, a "Chair-person" is one who sits in a "chair," so that person isn't really doing anything except for occupying a chair... what odes to the???
Besides recruitment, chairs are expected to carry a heavy teaching load. At smaller schools, FIVE classes per quarter! Between recruiting and teaching, how can there be time for anything else -- like helping students and faculty deal with curriculum that sucks!
Of course the online job posting for chair says only, at the bottom of a long list of traditional duties, "Maintains teaching assignment as scheduled."
But here is excerpt from 2014 official memo, saying what the teaching duties currently are for chairs:
"Based upon School of Study Census, School of Study Chairs (non-nursing) are required to teach the number of sections per quarter as specified in the table below:
School of study census: less than 50 students
Minimum Number of Sections per Chair per Quarter: 5
School of study census: 51 - 120 students
Minimum Number of Sections per Chair per Quarter: 4
School of study census: 121 - 250 students
Minimum Number of Sections per Chair per Quarter: 3
@HT5Tvhd, if you haven't already talked to me, my contact email is is below. Although some people have come forward recently, more are needed. You can also send emails anonymously.
Yet ITT-Tech pretends to the public it is a real college, not a marketing scheme for trapping vulnerable or highly suggestive adults.
Here is overview of chair position on ITT-Tech's hiring website: "The Chair promotes ITT Technical Institute’s mission by providing effective management of instruction, assessment, faculty training and professional development within a school of study at a campus. The Chair supervises faculty and supports students in the school of study."
Then the description goes on to list around 30 academic sounding tasks -- the sort of thing everyone would expect an academic chair to do.
Only one item on the list says what chairs are REALLY expected to do:
"Promotes student enrollment growth in assigned school of study by participating in the campuses’ re-entry program, implementing retention initiatives, attending campus events, and involvement in community and professional organizations and events."
For reentries call-making was highly focused on & were often major topics of meetings, reviews & boardrooms.
