To be accurate they are not truly "performance based" which is why they are eligible for rehire. Basically they are people who "the group can afford to get rid off without affecting the project much" .... look out for chip leads, design leads etc to get chopped. If these are good performers they will be moved to a different group may be in a different role. Basically good performers .... wrong place, wrong time ...
VSP is done from what I understand, but there are still "efficiency-based" ISPs that are being delivered to adjust headcounts at each group. Heard these are performance-based, but those laid off based on these efficiency-based actions are eligible for re-hire.
What is happening
Daily meetings and beatings by manages and VPs that don't like our honest answers.
Want made up plans that meet their imagination versus a real discussion about what needs to be done.
In the end we make the managers happy and $hit hits the fan, same old same old.
BTW any news on how 10nm is doing, Moore's Law is dead
@huc - I wouldn't bet on all ISP/VSP/ERP actions completed.
Phase 2 phase 2 phase 2!!!
@rnc - what group are you in? Are you a manager? I thought all actions for ISP, VSP and ERP have been completed?
"My direct has a mandatory meeting on Tuesday"
You are a manager and this is how you find out?
BK will resign on Wed. His secretary is my aunt.
BK holding an open forum on Wed. Rumor has it he will formally announce IMPACT program.
I see a meeting on Thursday, should be interesting news, lots of us know the other shoe is going to fall soon. Things are looking pretty bad where we work, morale is terrible, no work is getting done as everyone is typing away on their phones getting their resumes out and linkedin in order.
My direct has a mandatory meeting on Tuesday which I'm sure involves more layoffs.
