NOV is set to cut most of the management that is to be brought over with the completions sale. Keeping mostly the field and floor hands, the knowledge is with them not the management.
It will be over time as th transition occurs but their goal is to grow differently and change the management direction totally.

It's what upper nov management described regarding their purchase. (This was 1 month ago before the announcement). What they say and do can be different. Though; They are aware of management issues currently there. They will be mopping up and replacing from what they know.
Haha, you must not be familiar with NOV. Management runs the company like an upside down pyramid with multiple unneeded levels of management personnel on top of the actual production staff. In some plants the indirect to direct ratio can be 1 to 1. I have no doubt changes will be implemented but it's doubtful they will be what you describe.
