@1koc, I have seen all these things signs of poor education practices myself, as adjunct ITT-Tech math and science teacher. Except the adjuncts don't have different rules, as you were told! But some adjuncts - and other faculty as well I am sure - are easily manipulated.
At my campus, I taught science for years before taking on math classes. I lasted one quarter of teaching Math One before finally becoming totally fed up with ITT-Tech.
Many reasons exist for not wanting to teach math at ITT-Tech. A few years ago, at a faculty meeting, I overheard a math teacher and campus director talking about a recent math final. It turns out the math instructor was letting students retake the final. I specifically asked the director, in front of everyone, if it is "okay" for students to retake final exams at ITT-Tech. I wanted to see her response. And she flat out said, "uh, yes!"
If you look at the official policy for instructors to request "program level" curriculum changes, you will see it involves writing a several page document, and submitting it to dean first. Then maybe a curriculum committee will look at it. Obviously, adjunct faculty getting paid ridiculously low wages as is are not going to spend days preparing such a document!
ITT-Tech's downfall became sealed as they became more authoritarian, and less respectful of contributions of faculty on their campuses. ITT-Tech doesn't have anything else going for it!
